The MitoPOD's engineering pitch is density and contact: 2,320 LED diodes, each housing three chips (660 nm red, 810 nm and 830 nm near-infrared), for 6,960 chips total in a 67% NIR / 33% red split. Because the pod wraps around the body at close range rather than projecting across a room, the light hits from surface contact, with brightness adjustable from 1 to 100%. It is IEC 60601 certified — the safety standard for home light therapy equipment — runs on two 100-240V power supplies at 97W each, and folds from 62 by 54 inches down to 62 by 24 inches into an included travel bag at 15 pounds.

Mito's own product page is unusually candid about the category trade-off: flexible devices are inherently less durable than rigid panels, which is why the pod carries a 1-year warranty against up to 3 years on the company's panels, and its 30 mW/cm² peak surface irradiance is modest next to panel figures measured at distance. The company itself suggests serious users pair the pod for convenient daily full-body sessions with a panel for targeted, higher-irradiance work. As a lie-down, zero-setup format that packs for travel, it occupies a niche no panel can.
